It started with a 2005 Silver Corsa SXI. Old when I bought it. I wanted it to look the best it possibly could, so I started looking into detailing in more depth — products, processes, the proper way to do things.
Cars came and went. I learned to love detailing more and more. Friends and family started asking me to work on their cars. In late 2020 I decided I was going to make a career out of this thing I'd fallen in love with. I must say I'm pretty damn good at it too.
Five years in. Sole operator. Gtechniq accredited. Using AutoFinesse, AutoGlym, Menzerna and Gtechniq exclusively. No "hand car wash's" happening here.

From a safe maintenance wash through to a full two-stage machine polish with 3–5 year Gtechniq ceramic coating. Prices on quote — every car's different and I'd rather give you a real number than a guess.
The safe-maintenance tier. Two-bucket wash, decontamination, drying with plush microfibres, spray-on protection. Keeps a properly-detailed car looking properly-detailed.
Exterior wash + decontamination + clay + wax, full interior — hoover, deep clean, leather conditioning, glass, plastics. The "proper full clean".
The first step into "paintwork enhancement". Removes light swirls, hazing and surface marring. Brings the gloss back. Finish with sealant or ceramic.
The full correction. Cutting compound + polishing compound across two stages. Then a 3–5 year Gtechniq Crystal Serum Light or Ultra ceramic coating. The car leaves looking better than it did in the showroom.

A valet is about making sure the surfaces are clean. Detailing delves much deeper than that — embedded dirt, swirl marks, paint correction, long-term protection. It's the difference between a clean car and a properly-restored one. Both have a place. The Full Valet tier covers the former; anything from Single Stage Polish upwards is detailing proper.
Honest answer: no fixed price list. Every car is different — condition of paint, size, level of correction needed, what protection you want on top. I'd rather quote you a real number after I've seen the car (photos work fine for an initial quote) than publish a generic figure that ends up wrong for your situation.

Gtechniq for ceramic coatings (I'm an accredited installer). AutoFinesse and AutoGlym for the core wash, decontamination and protection range. Menzerna for the machine-polishing compounds. These aren't budget brands — they're the products UK detailers actually use day-to-day. We wouldn't use poor-quality chemicals on our own vehicles so there's no chance we'd use them on yours.
Three to five years depending on the product and the maintenance. Crystal Serum Light is rated at 5 years, Crystal Serum Ultra at 9. Both require an accredited installer (which I am). The ceramic itself is permanent until polished off — the manufacturer rating is for the gloss + hydrophobic behaviour.
Maintenance washes once a month with the right shampoo keep it performing at its best.
Fully mobile. I bring the kit to your driveway. For most jobs that's the right model — you carry on with your day, I get on with the work. For the larger paint corrections + ceramic coatings I sometimes prefer a covered location to control dust and temperature — if you don't have a garage I can usually arrange something.

Bookings tend to fill up 1–2 weeks ahead — sole operator so capacity is what it is. Payment on completion, card or bank transfer.
For the larger jobs (full correction + ceramic, multi-vehicle bookings) I'll travel across the West Midlands and sometimes further. For a single valet outside the core area there may be a travel charge — ask and I'll be honest about it. Generally if it's a half-day or more of work I'll cover most of central England.
